FAQ

What is Blight: Gauntlet of Destiny?
+
A competitive 2.5D survival runner by 369 Studios, built in Unreal on Yuga Labs' Otherside ODK and running on ApeChain. A cosmic Blight chases you through eight weekly stages; you gather resources and Fragments, buy perks, earn soulbound badges, and compete on individual and community leaderboards for weekly prizes and a grand jackpot.
What is Glyph, and why do I need a wallet?
+
Glyph is ApeChain's embedded wallet. Sign in with an email or social account and you get a wallet without seed phrases. Your wallet IS your identity here: the same address you use on this site is the one the game credits your runs to. Everything you earn lands in it.
What is $APE used for?
+
APE is ApeChain's native currency. You spend it on Fragment bundles in the Store, and part of every bundle feeds the jackpot. Gas on ApeChain is paid in APE too, though the Fragments you earn in runs reach your wallet without you paying for them.
What are FRAGS?
+
FRAGS (Fragments) are the in-game currency. Earn them by collecting Fragments in your runs, or buy them with APE in the Store, then spend them on perks. They can't be transferred or traded, so nobody can take yours and nobody can buy their way onto a leaderboard with someone else's.
What is the difference between an ability and a perk?
+
Abilities are what you use inside a run: Invisibility, Hook, Dash and the rest, picked up and spent in the moment. Perks are bought in the Store with Fragments and enhance the run before it starts: more speed, more health, more points, or a longer shift for your Sprytes. Activate a perk from your profile and it applies to your next runs while it lasts.
Can I stack perks?
+
Some perks stack, up to their own limit: Echoed Harvest up to 3 (+30% community score), Community Chaos up to 5, and Resource Magnifier up to 20. Every other perk runs one at a time. The Store shows each perk's limit.
What is a Spryte?
+
Your in-game Fragment-gathering helper. Deploy Sprytes and they gather Fragments for 40 seconds. The Spryte Swarm perk adds two more to your deployment; Eternal Spryte keeps them gathering 50% longer — with the ability, a full minute of gathering.
What happens when I run out of daily runs?
+
Every survivor gets a daily allowance of runs, reset at the same hour each day. Out of runs and not done? The Store sells daily run packs for Fragments. Extra runs are spent only once the day's allowance is gone, and they never expire.
Are purchases refundable?
+
No. All purchases (Fragment bundles and perks) are final, on-chain transactions. Quotes are shown before you sign, with slippage protection baked in, but once confirmed there are no refunds.
How do weekly stages work?
+
One new stage opens each week for eight weeks. Release timing may shift around holidays. Run the open stage as many times as your daily runs allow; when the week closes, its results are reviewed and its prizes and badges are settled.
Can I play a stage if I haven't completed the previous stage?
+
Yes. Each week, a new stage opens for all eligible players. You do not need to complete previous stages or own a completion badge to participate. Stage release timing may change around holidays.
How do you complete a stage?
+
Each stage has four environments, and each environment holds two rare resources. Collect all eight (two from every environment) and reach the end of the stage: that is a Full Victory. In the Chaos stage, collect its four resources. If you reach the end without all of them, you still keep every point and Fragment you earned, but the run is not a Full Victory and earns no completion or speed bonus.
How do I qualify for weekly prizes?
+
You must achieve a qualifying leaderboard score and a Full Victory on that week's stage. A high score alone does not make you eligible for a prize if the stage is incomplete. Prize ranks are counted among players with a Full Victory that week.
How are prizes awarded?
+
After each weekly competition, eligible winners select from the available prizes, highest score first. Once a prize has been selected and assigned to a winner, it is marked as unavailable on the prize page. First place spins the prize wheel for a Bored Ape or a Mutant Ape. Communities compete too: each week the top five communities win an APE floor sweep of their collection, from 10,000 APE for first to 1,000 APE for fifth.
How do leaderboards work?
+
Two boards, two periods: individual and community, weekly and all-time. Each week's board covers that week's stage and is kept on record when the week is finalized. Your weekly score is the total of all your valid runs that week, so every run adds to it. Your community's score is its members' totals added up. Flagged or invalidated runs don't count.
How does community scoring work?
+
You pledge one community at signup, permanently. Every valid run you complete adds to that community's total. Communities also get community-wide perks: any member can activate one and the whole community benefits while it lasts.
Can I change my community?
+
No. The pledge is permanent for the entire event. Choose carefully at the gates.
How does the jackpot work?
+
The grand jackpot starts at 10,000 APE, and 20% of every Fragment bundle purchase is added to it, held on-chain by the Store contract. After week eight, one player wins the entire jackpot, along with a mystery NFT. The more you play, the better your chances: every valid point you earn across the eight weeks counts as an entry, and a Full Victory isn't required.
What are badges?
+
Stage-completion badges recognize players who achieved a Full Victory. After each week ends, the team reviews completion results and the badge is minted to every qualifying wallet on ApeChain, one per stage, and it can't be transferred. Other achievements, like Fragment milestones and weekly honors, are recorded on your profile. Badges are accomplishments; they are never required to play a stage.
What is the ODK connection?
+
The game is built with Yuga Labs' Otherside Development Kit (ODK), which is how your Otherside-flavored gauntlet exists at all, and how the in-game shop overlay talks to the same wallet and inventory you see on this site.
